Every 60 seconds
Shanghai Web Designers has compiled a quick reference infographic about what happens in a 60 second snapshot of time online, revealing some amazing information.
We bring this to you fresh off of the press so you’ll be ahead of the game and familiar with it given the extremely high likelihood that it will be popping up as the top social media infographic used at conferences this year.

The breakdown
Every 60 Seconds online, a lot can happen. Because it is a little visually overstimulating at first glance, here are the statistics from the infographic above:
- 98,000+ tweets
- 320+ new Twitter accounts
- 100+ new LinkedIn accounts
- 1 new associated content article is published
- 6,600+ new pictures uploaded to flickr
- 50+ WordPress downloads
- 125+ WordPress plugin downloads
- 695,000+ Facebook status updates
- 1,700+ Firefox downloads
- 694,445 Google search queries
- 168 million emails are sent
- 60+ new blogs
- 1,500+ blog posts
- 70+ domains registered
- 600+ new YouTube videos
- 25+ hours total duration of YouTube videos uploaded
- 100+ questions asked on Answers.com
- 40+ questions asked on Yahoo! Answers
- 13,000+ iPhone applications downloaded
- 20,000+ new posts on tumblr
- 1 new definition is added on UrbanDictionary.com
- 1,600+ reads on Scribd
- 13,000+ hours of music streaming on Pandora
- 12,000+ new ads posted on Craigslist
- 370,000+ minutes of voice calls on Skype
It is not surprising how many more Facebook updates occur every minute over Twitter, but it is surprising how big networks like tumblr and Scribd have grown to be. It can be intimidating to anyone new to social networking or blogging as the sheer volume is phenomenally large, but there is still a lot of room for growth, especially in the real estate blogging and social networking arena. For those frequently contributing, it is no surprise that the growth has not his a plateau as we foresee some networks will in coming years as a natural part of any business cycle.
Tell us in the comments which of the statistics surprise you the most and the least!

I love infographics. we have been using them in these parts for many years and it is possible that the first ever real estate social media infographic appeared on the real estate weenie earlier this year.

Thank you very much for that amazing graph. As a technology provider for the real estate industry, it is sometimes very hard to convince Realtors of the reality happening around them in cyberspace. Infographics like these really tell the story and lets them see things with more perspective.

Found this ourselves a few days ago as well. It would be interesting to see a nice infographic video on the state of the housing market and the traditional Realtor mindset vs. the online gig.

Yikes! My head is ready to explode. I think I'll just stand out in front of my office and say hi to people when they walk by. Call me old fashioned!
